Redlen Technologies is the leading provider of multi-energy, radiation imaging modules based on proprietary Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) semiconductor imaging sensors.


​With a primary focus on revolutionary medical Photon Counting detector solutions for Computed Tomography (PCCT), Redlen is the world’s only merchant supplier of PCCT detector solutions in clinical use today.

In September 2021, Redlen became a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon Inc.  Redlen’s leadership in semiconductor radiation detection and imaging products align ideally with Canon Inc’s strategic vision to expand its merchant component solutions portfolio in medical and related industries.

The Canon acquisition enables Redlen to accelerate our mission to scale our industry leading Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) semiconductor radiation imaging solutions for next generation PCCT, nuclear medicine, baggage scanning and non-destructive testing applications.  Capitalizing on the extensive process engineering, manufacturing automation, cost reduction and volume production capabilities of Canon Inc., we are extending our market leadership position in delivering semiconductor radiation imaging solutions to our customers.

Glenn is an Electrical Engineer and MBA who brings over 25 years of design, product marketing, business development and executive management experience in the semiconductor industry. He was a founder of PMC-Sierra, Inc. and grew a highly profitable division with sales exceeding $200M per year. Glenn is a holder of 6 semiconductor device patents and has extensive experience in product marketing, building strategic business relationships, and successfully managing high growth businesses.

Jay is an experienced financial executive who has led finance teams in both public and private high growth, complex organizations including STEMCELL Technologies, Peer1 Hosting, Angiotech Pharmaceuticals and Ballard Power Systems. Jay is a CA with a strong track record of providing financial leadership for high growth medical device, pharmaceutical and high-tech companies. Jay holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a CPA and Chartered Accountant.

Reza Dowlatshahi.jpg

Reza has 27+ years in semiconductor wafer fabrication, spanning R&D through large-scale commercialization at Nortel Networks, Tower Semiconductor, and the Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (NRC). He spent 21 years at NRC developing new technologies and fabrication methods, supporting clients across R&D, NPI, and production, and leading multidisciplinary teams. Earlier, he worked at Natural Resources Canada on fuel additive commercialization. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Carleton University.

Hiroaki Nakai is an experienced technology executive with a career spanning 30 years. He joined Toshiba R&D Center as a researcher in computer vision, leading research programs in industrial applications such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. In 2009, he moved to Toshiba Medical Systems where he led R&D projects in imaging modalities, including photon counting CT. From 2020 to 2023, he was Technology Executive at Canon Medical Systems, overseeing hardware technology development. He received a MSc in control engineering from Osaka University.

Sean is an engineering leader with 15+ years of experience across the automotive, aerospace and defense (electro-optics), and medical industries. He specializes in complex system design, design for manufacturing, precision engineering, and advanced manufacturing. Sean has led multidisciplinary teams from concept through full-scale production, emphasizing quality, cost, and manufacturability. He holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, an M.S. in Optical Science from the University of Rochester, and is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in BC.

In 2023, Mr. Nakazawa was appointed Senior Manager, Business Operations, Canon Healthcare USA Inc. having responsibility for its’ financial setup. Since joining Canon in 2019, Mr. Nakazawa has held several senior financial management roles within the Canon Medical organization. Prior to Canon, Mr. Nakazawa spent over 15 years in the consulting industry focusing on business process engineering.
