Redlen is an innovative company with a big vision.
We're intent on delivering breakthrough advances in the performance and economics of semiconductor imaging technology. Our goal is the widespread deployment of Redlen's
CZT
semiconductor radiation detectors in solid state medical imaging systems within 5 years. Redlen is the only company in the world pursuing an order of magnitude advance in the production of CZT semiconductor solutions.

Our Story
Redlen may be a start up, but our roots in semiconductor imaging technology go back almost a decade.
It all started in 1994 when Bob Redden, a career metallurgical engineer, recognized the commercial potential of
CZT
in radiation imaging applications. Bob's extensive experience in compound semiconductor crystal growth and pure metals refining enabled him to realize that the standard 'Bridgman process'
used to grow most compound semiconductor crystals would not work well for CZT. Bob believed that the problems of producing CZT could be solved by using a
THM solution-growth process.
Bob undertook extensive research on THM crystal growth, including assignments for the Canadian Space Agency, conducting zero gravity crystal growth experiments on the MIR space station, which furthered his belief in the THM process. In 1999, Bob incorporated Redlen Technologies and the rest, as they say, is corporate history.
